My later walk

Yes I went for a walk again in the afternoon.  But first I had a snooze outside in the sun with my cat sleeping on top of me.  It was beautiful out and I really sat down to read but soon I was asleep.  I heard the cat come outside and jump on top of me so he could enjoy the sunshine as well.

After we went for a walk.  First we walked across the lake to another bay and from there we took the main road back.  It was not easy walking across the slushy snow and ice on the lake but good exercise anyway.  Took us about 1 1/2 hours to do the round trip.  I know it looks like we walked on water in the picture below but it really is all ice right now and safe to walk or drive on. The red circle is the route we walked.

There was nothing to photograph really until we got back to our own road where  there are some pussy willows I have been wanting to photograph but every time the sun is not an my favour.  Took the picture today any way and will take another one later when the pussy willow is flowering.

It was a really nice and enjoyable day today.

My early walk

I went for an early walk this morning.  7 am and minus 4 degrees.  But the sun was just starting to peek through and it was misty as well.  You can guess right!  A beautiful time to go out and take pictures.  First picture I took was of a robin high up in a tree singing away.  I did take a picture of him but he was way too far up so it is not sharp at all.  But with our first robin this year it does mean spring is here.

Next I noticed ice formation on the water in the ditch.  The water was running underneath it but the night frost had made a really nice ice pattern.  Unfortunately I could not get the morning sun on it but I still took the pictures.

This bottom picture unfortunately does not show what I saw which was a lot of glitter on the ice and the little twig from the sun.

Next I finished my walk by stopping at the lake and taking in the beautiful scenery of sun, ice and fog.  Again I tried to capture what I saw.

This is a 'road' on the ice made by trucks and snowmobiles.  As you can tell a road into nowhere.

Something to show again

Well I have been working on some more cards and this is one of them.

A birthday card for a friend the end of April.  I am early.  Hope I am not going to out do myself by having all my cards ready a month early.

Yesterday I went for an 18km walk. The sun was shining so I had to get as much vitamin D as I could.  Met a cute little puppy but unfortunately I could not take her home.  May she will be there next time again.  But I won't be doing a long walk today, may legs won't like that at all.  May be tomorrow?  Looks like our day is starting out with sunshine again.  I guess it is sitting out on the deck reading a book time later today.

Snow Fun

Time to show you what our Spring looks like.  Certainly not green but it is sunny and on this day very little wind.

The boys and family came over to celebrate my birthday so Oma decided it was time to go outside and get some fresh air.  Our house is really not big enough to house 6 adults and 2 kids but we manage.  As long as we get to go outside it is not bad at all.

We played outside for at least 2 1/2 hours.  First on the hill and then we walked on the lake and visited with the ice fishermen.  The kids had lots of fun and we were all pooped by the time we got home again.  Opa made supper, pie and  ice cream for dessert.  After it was time to go home again.  I am sure the little ones slept all the way home they were so tired.

                                   Ik moest eruit en nam mijn camera mee, hopende op zonnige

                                   Het is iets anders geworden, maar toch zonnig en voorjaar!

het kasteeltje.Zie de zonnige kleuren.

Hij heeft beslist een vrije middag genomen om op zijn

gemak te vissen en te genieten van het mooie weer.

De foto leek scherper, jammer, maar de boer giert

er niet minder om.

Look at this Birthday Card!!!

Yes a Birthday card I received just the other day in a package.  This one is from Jeanne and I am sure you can see how much work went into it.  Jeanne made the backgrounds herself according to a class we both took on line covering different stamping techniques.  In this card Jeanne used a brayer and resist.  Great work Jeanne and thank you so much.

Oh and yes there was more in the package.  I DVD series on Nederland van Boven (VPRO series).  I am looking forward to watch these 10 episodes all about Holland seen from the sky.  I saw a couple of them on Uitzending Gemist .  I don't think the series is available any longer but if you can get the DVDs from somewhere it is worth watching all of them.

But before I show you our neighbourhood I like to show you the last bit of my bulb garden.  A few days ago I showed you my flowers of this garden but my hyacinth was not blooming at that time so here is my last flower.

Next is a map of our neighbourhood.  I marked where we live with a black spot and arrow.

As you can tell we are a very small community with about 250 homes or so.

This is the house of our neighbour just a few houses down from us.  He is planning on making his house bigger but before he could do that he had to move his house as it was originally build too close to the road.  Because he had to move it anyway he also decided to turn it 90 degrees (the bottom picture).  As you can tell the house is put on 'stilts'.  The two 'stilts' out front is where he is planning on building a porch this summer.  I will keep you up to date with pictures as there are changes.

Now for some other houses close to us.

this house is standing on our street (Larch Rd) as well.

This house is standing at the end of our street and is for sale.  So if you like trees and a quiet neighbourhood this house may be for you.  Not too big though.

A cute little house for a great weekend get-a-way.

 This is one of the older cabins we have around here.  The new ones are not cabins any longer but big houses and only get used during the summer time.  Sometimes only for weekends.

This house is standing just outside our summer village.  The owners build this log cabin a few years ago before that they lived in a mobile home.

Huizen fotograferen. Er staan genoeg mooie en aardige

 huizen, maar een goede foto maken, is nog niet zo simpel

Boerderij type

Dit is een pand dat staat naast een kleine kerk. 

Het staat  aan de rand van een pleintje, vandaar de banken.

Dit huis staat op de dijk en wordt bewoond door een 

tuinierder.Het huisje intrigeert me altijd als we

erlangs wandelen. Deze winter stond zijn tuin voor een 

deel met de voeten in het water.

De  Dieze stroomt langs het huis en wordt

druk bevaren.

Ik kon niet laten 2 opnames te maken.Het is zo'n leuk huisje om te zien

en de man die er woont is een aardige kerel..  Voor- en zijaanzicht!

Deze woning ziet er rustiek uit( vind ik),

alleen, zou het binnen niet donker zijn?

In de tuin stonden de narcisjes te bloeien.

Ik vermoed veel ruimte,maar niet mooi m.i.

Tot slot (voorlopig) Dit kasteeltje staat aan de andere kant van de Dieze.

Er is een hangbrug gemaakt, zodat we binnenkort

erlangs kunnen gaan wandelen.

Is wel een hele lange tocht voor ons!

Not a card but a scrap

I made 5 cards and 1 scrap last week but I will just show my scrap here.  Do you want to see may cards click here and you will go to my blog for my crafts.
This scrap was a challenge in which lasted 2 hours.  The first hour we got instructions every 10 minutes on what and where to add paper, photo or elements to the page.  Then we had another hour to finish the scrap and send it in to be in the running for a prize.

It was a fun scrap to do but I did discover that I am a visual learner and that having just written instruction is more of a challenge for me.  Yes I did win a prize.  $5 worth of digital srapbooking supplies.  Not the main prize but I was happy just to get the scrap done prize or not.

The pictures are of our 2 youngest granddaughter about a year ago.

Swing kaart

Wat een lastige kaart om goed en ook nog een 

beetje leuk te maken.

Middenin gestempeld,de omlijsting, eerst met

de cuttlebug, daarna ingekleurd.

Dezelfde kaart, maar even een iets andere stand,

zodat het effect duidelijker te zien is.

Dit is de achterkant, alleen het middelste

deel apart gestempeld en de randen weer wat ingekleurd.

Ook hier begint het voorjaar heel voorzichtig.

Vast iets van de kleur in huis gehaald.

Rode tulpen. Ze staan nu nog fris!
