Here is the delivery truck and the two workers to carry the windows to the other side of our house. Not as easy as it sounds as there is just a small passage way and the picture windows are heavy.
This is one of the picture windows being brought down from the truck. Leo and I had to help them carry it to the other side as the two of them just could not lift the window. I don't know how our carpenters are going to place the windows in our house as one of them has to go to the second story. I will take pictures of this process if I am brave enough to watch them lifting the window up and install.
These are the four slider windows. Notice our door and 4 more windows in the truck!
Just the door left and all the windows are stacked and ready to be put in.
All done!
The next day, Friday, Jason came to get the area around the house ready to do the backfill. The bobcat would move the pile of dirt we had from digging the basement back around the house to cover the bottom half of the basement. (In the pictures that is just above the plastic.)
This is the little bobcat picking up some dirt with his bucket and then dropping it against the house.
Here he is working his way around the corner to the other side of the house.
A bucket full of dirt.
Yes it took some manpower as well to spread the dirt. Even the owner of the house had to put on his work boots and help out.
At this point Jason decided it was no use trying to do more. The dirt was too moist and the little bobcat was just sinking away in it and could not move around. They decided to leave it and try again on Monday with another type of machine which could handle the soft dirt.
Now we are up to date with the pictures. It is Sunday today and tomorrow brings a new week and new progress to photograph I hope. Leo just finished drawing the rough draft for the roof line and now we have to wait for the contractor to see if they can build the roof that way. They also have to work on the backfill so we will see how they plan to proceed this week.
Misschien had je ze gisteren al geplaatst, maar nu pas ontdekt.Weer duidelijke foto's en een leuk verhaal!
