Welcome/Welkom

This blog is about my friend Jeanne and me. I met Jeanne on the internet years ago and since have kept contact with her through emails and common interests. A few years ago I was lucky enough to meet with Jeanne in person and it has made our friendship closer. Recently Jeanne bought herself a camera and we decided to create this blog and share some of our photos and hobbies.

You will notice this blog is in both English and Dutch.

We are really moving along now!

After they poured the footings in the rain and they poured the gravel we waited until Tuesday the next week for the lumber to come and the carpenters.  They put up the walls for the basement and got it all ready for the basement floor to be poured.  These are the pictures of the basement walls being put up and the floor being prepared.
Here Jason is getting the ground level and putting in the sump pump (black box in the back).

They build the walls on the ground and here they are setting up the first wall.

Have to make sure the wall is straight on the line.

And of course we also have to make sure the wall is level as well.

Let's get the wall down on the footings.

Up comes the next wall.

Corners are fine as well!

Now let's put the posts in.  The right length first.

Now the second beam and please

hold on to the beam until we get it to fit on right.

Beam is up and we just have to finish up now so they can pour the floor.

Yes Leo, you do fit so no problems for you to walk around in the basement.  Anyone taller may bump his head so they better watch out.

It is all ready so the carpenters are leaving.

In with the cement pouring group.

First we have to put down some plastic . . .

On top of this we put the wire mesh and we are ready for the cement.

Want to try the balance beam?  The cat does.

Next I will post the pictures of how the floor is being poured.
